Dennis Wheeler - President

 

Dennis is an entrepreneur, and has developed significant expertise in the Dallas real estate market over the last ten years. He currently owns and operates Lakewood Construction & Development, Inc., which has developed many single and multi-family residences in Dallas. Prior to his real estate ventures, Dennis owned and operated Unity Marketing Associates, specializing in the marketing and sales of insurance financial products, and he owned and franchised several specialty stores. Both companies were sold to well-known Fortune 500 companies. He also has established a new technology company, which owns several patents related to the automotive industry. Dennis lives in East Dallas with his wife, Cecelia, and his stepdaughter Veronica.

 

Richard Moore - Vice President and General Counsel

 

Richard brings twenty-seven years of legal experience in real estate and corporate transactions to Lakewood Title. With the Federal Asset Disposition Association, Richard was directly responsible for the management and disposition of Vernon Savings & Loan and Silverado Savings & Loan assets, and then with Amresco Management, First Republic Bank’s real estate assets and commercial credits. When Amresco’s objectives were achieved, Richard began and has continued active investment in the Dallas real estate market. Richard also maintains a small legal practice as a solo practitioner, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Richard and his wife, Alison, live in Lakewood, where they raised three children - Richard Jr., Stephanie and Ryan.

 

Mark Carlson - Vice President of Operations

 

Lakewood Title benefits from Mark’s extensive experience in the mortgage and title industry. For ten years, he owned and operated Integrity Mortgage Group, Inc. During his ownership, Integrity became one of the largest mortgage brokerage companies in the Metroplex. He subsequently owned and operated a title company, Title Team of Texas, for six years. Prior to his work with Integrity and Title Team, Mark was the Operations Vice President of a large French pharmaceutical company, overseeing financial, human resource, sales, and compliance departments over a four state region. Mark lives in Allen, and has three grown children – Rachel, who lives in Dallas, and Audrey and Zack who each live in Utah. Mark is enjoying being a proud grandfather.

 

Shawn Smith - Vice President of Marketing

 

Shawn has valuable experience in both the title and mortgage industry. He owned an independent mortgage brokerage firm for 7 years and had ownership interest in a title company. This blend of experience allows him to know both sides of the transaction and foster cooperation among all parties. Shawn graduated from Texas State University and has been involved in the Dallas business world for almost 20 years. He lives in Dallas with his son Alexander.

 

Mary Danford - Escrow Officer

 

Mary is a true title professional with over twenty-two years experience in the title business. She has managed multiple Chicago Title offices during that period. Numerous real estate professionals, lending and mortgage departments of banks, and independent mortgage brokers all have relied on her abilities to close their transactions. Prior to working in the title industry, Mary gained technical experience working in a real estate management office, in the office leasing field for Trammell Crow, in a law firm as a legal secretary, in a real estate commercial development for the Weitzman Group, and in the multi-family property acquisitions / dispositions field for Lincoln Properties. Mary lives in Lake Highlands with her husband, Bill, and they have two grown children, Heath and Jason.
